A Thuistí agus a Chairde,
Regarding the closure of the school on the 1st of June due to a problem with the sewerage system: The Board of Management made every effort to avoid closing the school, emergency work was done on the system the previous night and we understood that the problem was remedied. On arriving at school the next morning however, and in the light of day, it was clear that there was further work required to ensure a safe school environment for all. We apologise sincerely for the late notice and any inconvenience this caused to our school community.
Regarding the issue of the children being dropped back to their bus stops by the bus driver, and not taken to school where the teachers were waiting to receive them and ensure everyone was collected safely: the Board of Management understands the gravity of the situation and is in contact with the service provider regarding the same. Once it became apparent that the bus wasn’t arriving, the school staff went to great lengths to ensure that all children were safe and accounted for. We thank them sincerely for this.
Board of Management, Scoil Bhríde
